Roanoke Dental Center

★ A Roanoke Dental Center Differentiator

Non-SurgicalRoot Canals

Keep your natural tooth — and keep your treatment in-house. Most small practices refer root canal therapy out to specialists. We don't. You get the same team, the same chair, and a much shorter timeline from diagnosis to relief.

★ What it means

Saving the tooth, without the runaround.

When the soft tissue inside a tooth — the pulp — becomes infected or inflamed, the tooth doesn't have to come out. A root canal removes the infected pulp, cleans and seals the inside of the tooth, and then you typically receive a crown to restore full function.

The “non-surgical” part matters. Some practices send root canals out to an endodontist or oral surgeon — that means a second consult, a second waiting room, and often more weeks of pain. At Roanoke Dental Center, we handle non-surgical root canal therapy in-house at our Electric Rd location.

You get treated by the same team that knows your dental history. No bouncing between offices. Faster relief.

★ Frequently Asked

Patient questions, answered.

What does non-surgical root canal mean?
It means we treat the infected pulp inside your tooth without surgical procedures like an apicoectomy. Most root canals at Roanoke Dental Center are completed entirely in-house in one or two visits — no oral surgeon referral, no separate facility, no extended timeline.
Why is this a differentiator?
Many small dental practices refer root canal therapy out to an endodontist. That means a separate consult, a separate office, and weeks of waiting in pain. Roanoke Dental Center keeps that care in-house at our Electric Rd location, so you can see a familiar team and get treated faster.
Will it hurt?
Modern root canal therapy is far more comfortable than its reputation. The pain you walked in with is what hurts — the procedure itself is what resolves it. We use thorough local anesthesia, and sedation is available if you have anxiety or sensitive teeth.
How long does it take?
Most non-surgical root canals are completed in one or two visits, depending on the tooth and how much infection is present. We will explain the timeline before we start and place a temporary restoration the same day if a permanent crown is needed.
Can I have sedation for my root canal?
Yes. Roanoke Dental Center offers nitrous oxide and oral sedation. If anxiety is keeping you from getting treatment, we will talk through your options before scheduling so you walk in already knowing what to expect.
